What is Hypnotherapy?

During your hypnotherapy session you will be guided into a state of hypnosis.  Often when people come to see me, they have some anxiety about what hypnosis will be like – they worry that they might feel completely out of control or that I will take control of their mind.  No wonder they feel anxious!

Well, you don’t have to worry because, cresources imageontrary to popular belief, we all experience hypnosis a number of times every day (up to 6-8 times an hour).  Being in a trance is actually something we are very familiar with.  It’s very similar to day-dreaming.

Have you ever been watching TV and realised you have missed the last couple of minutes?  That’s because you have drifted into a trance.   Ever driven somewhere and when you got to your destination, you can’t remember quite how you got there?  Again, you have been in a trance-like state – your subconscious mind has taken over and magically got you to where you want to be.

Once in hypnosis we are able to access the resources of our subconscious mind, making powerful, positive suggestions to help you achieve your goals.

Analytical hypnotherapy can be used to uncover the source of a particular problem or issue, looking at why we behave in particular way.  This awareness can help us to change our behaviour and negative thought patterns.

When in hypnosis you will continue to be aware of what is happening and remain completely in control.  It’s just likePray, small being in a wonderful state of relaxation.
